Professor Linda McGillis Hall is the 2017 recipient of the Pat Griffin Scholar Award from the Canadian Association of Schools of Nursing
The Pat Griffin Scholar Award honours a researcher and scholar who has contributed significantly to the scholarship of nursing education in Canada.
Professor McGillis Hall’s expertise on nursing, education and health systems is recognized internationally. Her recent scholarship examining the implementation of the NCLEX-RN exam in Canada, as a replacement to the Canadian Registered Nurses’ Examination, has garnered much attention locally and internationally, and highlighted issues in the rollout of the new program as they relate to students, schools of nursing, and employers.
The Pat Griffin Scholar Award includes a $10,000 grant to promote nursing education research through inquiry, mentorship and dissemination, and Professor McGillis Hall delivered the “Pat Griffin Annual Lecture” at the 2017 CASN Council meeting in November.
